Tenant spotlight: Dearing Plastics going from strength to strength

13th June 2017

Dearing Plastics Limited joined the Humber Enterprise Park in March 2017 as an expanding company looking for a new space to grow and mature as a business. Since then, the company has been able to add more machines to its production line, create new jobs and impress customers with its smart facilities.

As one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of First Aid cases, the business had outgrown its previous location. The directors recognized that in order to grow the business, they needed more space to create a more efficient production line and a better working environment for employees. Moving to the Humber Enterprise Park has helped Dearing Plastics achieve these targets in a number of ways.

Due to low rental costs per square foot and business rates exemption thanks to the Humber Enrterprise Park’s Enterprise Zone status, Dearing Plastics has been able to channel the money saved back into the business. The company has invested in higher grade injection moulding machinery, creating lighter and more advanced products.

Despite only moving around three months ago, four brand new machines have been added to the production line, with an additional five jobs creatied in line with plans for further growth.

Director of Dearing Plastics, Andy Harris (AH), spoke to us about his experience so far.

AH: “Customers are impressed the minute they step on site. The image of our business has been elevated significantly”.

A new warehouse manager was recently employed after being drawn in by the building, it’s surroundings and the potential they saw when visiting the site.

AH: “The site grounds are well maintained, it is kept pristine and people are always tidying, it looks really impressive.”

The landlords encourage a collaborative relationship between tenants and developers in order to aid growth in the businesses. Andy said he was impressed by the site owner Citivale’s level of understanding of his business and how much they listened to the tenants.

Due to the improvements which the relocation has allowed, Dearing’s is now in a position of confidence with new suppliers, and has even impressed its bank managers.
