Time Team, Brough

8th December 2015
Like an episode of time team, the demolition contractor has uncovered a long since hidden and forgotten plant room beneath the floor of building 74.  The building, constructed between 1916 and 1920, and then latterly extended is now beginning to reveal its secrets during the installation of a drainage channel that runs along the front of its North elevation.

Accessed through an intricate Segmental Brick archway (indeed they certainly knew how to build at the turn of the century), further investigation has revealed that this space is flooded, partially filled in and that an old boiler plant has been left in situ.  Due to the requirement of point loading in the Hangar above, the unfortunate decision has been made to fill the void with concrete but not before it was photographed for historical reference.
